NORTHEAST STORM NEWS:

The Northeast Storm is proud to announce the return of coaches Jeff Christian, as the head coach of the varsity team, and Matt Curtain, as the head coach of the junior varsity team, for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

A little bit about each coach:

Coach Christian played professionally for 21 seasons at all levels of hockey, including 18 games in the National Hockey League with the New Jersey Devils, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Phoenix Coyotes.  During his pro career he played over 1,400 games with 574 goals and 792 assists.  Coach Christian also has experience coaching at various levels of hockey as a player coach and head coach in the CHL and ECHL, as well as junior hockey with the AAA Junior Bluejackets program, and last season with the Storm varsity.

Coach Curtin was a three year varsity letter winner with the Storm as a player, served as the junior varsity assistant coach for three seasons, and head coach of the Storm JV team last season. He has helped develop players for the Storm through league play and tournaments and is an integral part of the program.

2020 SUMMER ICE Open to Storm Players Grades 9-12 for the 2020-21 Season

Upcoming Schedule:

Message regarding Storm Summer Ice Sessions:
The Chiller has placed a limit of 22 skaters for team sessions this summer, so initially for the month of June the board has decided that we are going to open up summer ice to incoming 2020-21 players in grades 9-12 and see what numbers are like. We will look into adding additional ice for 7th-8th grade future Storm players (Storm Troopers) in July or possibly the Chiller will expand their policy on how many players can take part in team gatherings/practices.
Since there is a limit to the number of players, we are going to use "Sign-Up Genius" as a way to sign up for sessions and ask that people sign up on a weekly basis.  After discussion with the coaches following Wednesday 6/17 session, we are going to go with 18 skaters and 4 goalies to fill the 22 player slots allotted by the Chiller.  We hope that more slots will open up as we go through the summer and restrictions are lessened.
Each week a new Sign-Up Genius link will be posted by Friday for the following week to sign up.
The new form to sign up for Wednesday, July 1st is posted below.
We ask that you please please cognizant of others when signing up for ice slots so that people have the opportunity to participate.

*All summer ice sessions will take place at the Chiller Ice Works in Worthington (located at 401 E. Wilson Bridge Rd, Worthington, 43085).
**The coaches have also incorporated off-ice sessions to follow the on-ice session.
**The off-ice session will occur 20 mins after we get off the ice, so on 7/1 it will begin around 6:50 and take place next door at McCord Park (located at 333 E. Wilson Bridge Rd, Worthington, 43085).

Sign-Up Genius Link for Wednesday, July 1st session:

We as an organization hope that everyone understands, as there is definitely a transitional phase as we come back from the Covid and quarantine restrictions. Please check the webpage as it will be updated as information becomes available.
Thank you!

The GCHSCHL is now the OSHL!

Over the summer of 2017 our league has undergone a name change.  The Greater Columbus High School Club Hockey League is now called the Ohio Scholastic Hockey League.  The change was made for various reasons, including wanting the ability to recognize the continued importance of education as well as recognizing the fact that we have teams in the league outside of the Columbus area.
