The Northeast Storm is proud to announce Jeff Christian as the new head coach of the varsity team. Coach Christian played professionally for 21 seasons at all levels of hockey, including 18 games in the National Hockey League with the New Jersey Devils, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Phoenix Coyotes. During his pro career he played over 1,400 games with 574 goals and 792 assists. Coach Christian also has experience coaching at various levels of hockey as a player coach and head coach in the CHL and ECHL, as well as junior hockey with the AAA Junior Bluejackets program. He also has been a skills coach at various levels with hockey programs in central Ohio, serving as the Storm skills coach last season. The Storm organization is very excited to have Coach Christian leading the varsity team this season.
We are also happy to announce that Matt Curtin has been named the new head coach of the Northeast Storm Junior Varsity team. Coach Curtin was a three year varsity letter winner with the Storm as a player and has served as the junior varsity assistant coach the past three seasons. He has helped develop players for the Storm through league play and tournaments. The Storm organization is excited to have Coach Curtin leading the the junior varsity team this season.
The season OSHL league schedule has been posted and we are in the process of finalizing the non-league schedule for the 2019-20 season. Please check the webpage for updates on game additions.
The Northeast Storm players are comprised of students from a number of Columbus area school districts including the following:
Bexley, Buckeye Valley, Centerburg, Columbus Public, Delaware, Grandview Heights, Johnstown-Monroe, Licking Heights, Marysville, Union, Northridge, Olentangy, Plain (New Albany), River Valley, Southwest Licking, Whitehall, and Worthington.

How much does it cost to play for the Storm?
For the 2019-20 season, fees are $360.00 /month running from Sep - Feb (6 months) = $2,160. Fees do not include costs for equipment or incidental expenses such as meals, lodging, etc. for out of town tournaments).
Families with more than one player get a 25% discount on the 2nd player.
What about payments?

Northeast Storm Mandatory Tryouts
Please COMPLETE ALL FORMS IN ADVANCE and bring them to the tryouts along with your valid 2019-2020 USA Hockey # and $100 check made payable to Northeast Storm. Plan to arrive at least 60 minutes before the tryouts begin. (See Registration tab for all forms).
Summer Ice Update
7-8 Graders: We look forward to seeing you in our colors in the future!
9-12 Graders: We hope to see you this summer to continue to work on your hockey skill development.
Summer Skates will begin in June at Chiller Easton. Players entering the 7th or 8th grade in the Fall of 2019 are eligible to participate in the summer ice sessions free of charge as a bridge program to get acclimated to the Storm organization. Summer ice this year for players entering grades 9-12 will incur a slight cost of $100 for the summer. The fee will be non-refundable, but the cost will be counted towards player fees for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
Skates will take place once a week through July, then occur twice a week in August leading up to tryouts.
Summer sessions will include off-ice conditioning (more details to come on exact timing before or after on-ice sessions).
Participation in the skates is optional, but strongly encouraged given the other teams in our league are involved in similar programs. Summer skates are open to any player residing in one of the Storm school districts entering grades 7-12 in the Fall of 2019.

BUCKEYE CUP 2019
The Buckeye Cup is the State Tournament for USA Hockey high school teams in Ohio. Congratulations to the Northeast Storm Varsity team for qualifying for the tournament held in Cincinnati this year. The team had a record of 2 wins and 1 loss in their pool play, Finishing 8th in the state in the final rankings! Great effort all year - you've made the organization proud!
The GCHSCHL is now the OSHL!
Over the summer of 2017 our league has undergone a name change. The Greater Columbus High School Club Hockey League is now called the Ohio Scholastic Hockey League. The change was made for various reasons, including wanting the ability to recognize the continued importance of education as well as recognizing the fact that we have teams in the league outside of the Columbus area.
