The GCHSCHL is now the OSHL!

Over the summer of 2017 our league has undergone a name change.  The Greater Columbus High School Club Hockey League is now called the Ohio Scholastic Hockey League.  The change was made for various reasons, including wanting the ability to recognize the continued importance of education as well as recognizing the fact that we have teams in the league outside of the Columbus area.

Tryouts for the Northeast Storm's 2017-2018 season will be held at the Easton Chiller on August 23rd and 24th.  See the Calendar for more details on time and place.  The cost is $100 and will be applied to your season fees if you accept a spot on the team.  The Registration tab has links to the documents you must complete and bring with you to try out.  Players must also have registered for a new USA Hockey membership and have their confirmation number to try out as well.  There is a link to USA Hockey on our Links page in the "About Us" tab above.

We have our team coaches running the drills during the tryout, and we have independent evaluators not affiliated with the Storm in the stands taking notes.  We will also be filming the tryout sessions.

2017-2018 Season Information

The Storm is holding summer conditioning for all returning players, incoming freshman and 8th graders who are in the Storm district.  Dates for the Summer Skates are on the Calendar.  We also have two teams playing in the Chiller Summer High School 5-on-5 league.  Last year our team made it to the Championship game - let's do it again this year!!

New players interested in playing for the Storm can contact our registrar directly with questions or to give us your contact information so you can be notified of upcoming events.   See the Contacts tab of the website for the link.  The Storm district includes Marysville, Buckeye Valley, Sunbury, Johnstown, private schools in other districts, as well as the Columbus public schools area.  For more detail, see the map on the OSHL site in the links above.

Buckeye Cup - State Tournament - Varsity

Congratulations to the Varsity Team for making the state tournament.  They showed great effort, losing the first game in overtime, winning the second game, and then losing to the State Champs (Dayton) 5-4 with less than one minute to go in the game.  Great season to all!
